Candidates hoping to lead our fair city are answering questions from constituents.
The mayoral candidates' forum is brought to you by the Frog Hollow and Historic Conley Hills neighborhood associations.
"We hope that you can come out to the Forum to listen, ask questions, and get informed about an important election for our city," wrote Erik M. Friedly, president of the Frog Hollow Neighborhood Association in an email.
Joseph Macon, the incumbent mayor and Earnestine Pittman, who recently stepped down from her city council seat to run for the position, have confirmed their participation.
Organizers stressed this will be a moderated forum. Said Friedly's email:
Order and respect will be maintained throughout.
Here's how the night should unfold: First, introductory remarks then question and answers. If time remains, questions may be taken from the audience, as long as the questions are not inflammatory or derogatory.
The audience is encouraged to submit questions in advance. But questions will be accepted at the door at the forum. Either way, a person can submit up to three questions. Similar questions will be combined into single question that will be asked by the moderator.
